Paddy holds a degree in Economics & Psychology from the University of Reading, a Master’s in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
After graduating from Chicago, he spent 10 years working in business and corporate financial planning roles with ICL (now Fujitsu Computers) and Xerox. This included assignments in the Middle East and London. Whilst based in London, Paddy travelled throughout Europe, Africa and the Far East as an advisor to Xerox’s local companies.
In the 1980s he turned to running his own business implementing computer systems for independent financial advisers. Then came a “eureka!” moment. He realised that his passion was and is, giving good simple financial and investment advice. So he studied for and passed the professional exams required to become an independent financial adviser!
In addition to his University education, Paddy is a member of and has a diploma from the Personal Finance Society (Diploma of the Personal Financial Society).
Paddy is married with an adult son and a daughter at secondary school in Exeter.
He serves on the village hall committee in Ilsington.
After a career in pre-school education, Nicky worked for several years in the accounting department of a West Country software company.
She now provides friendly, helpful client service and is the administrative backbone of Advance Financial Planning.
